Good game today. Seeing the people I have been sitting with for all these years is fun. The home opener is like a family reunion. One guy is a bartender at Giusti's in the Delta. A classic Delta place to go in Walnut Grove (since 1910). A lady who sits behind me comes down from Carson City for the games. Not your typical Black Hole Raider fans.
Sorry to see the 9er's lose. They local boy (see post below) had an ok game and they would have won if that big play at the end wasn't called back.
Sadly the Raiders didn't complete a pass to Jerry Rice. He played hard as always. He runs his route even on run plays and blocks when he needs to. In fact he laid out one guy with a block really hard. He offered a hand to help the guy up but the Bills trainers had to come check on him. He was ok, but Jerry hit him good. At the end of the game Rice went to the sidelines and threw his helmet down and sat on the end of bench. He was really pissed.
They should have given him a few more chances, but he wasn't really open at all day. They were playing him man on man all day but Jerry wasn't open much.
Hey 274 straight games with a catch, and still blocking and playing hard. Jerry Rice, still one of the best.
