Phew catching up on my bigrick.fm email tonite. Lots of nice comments. Sure does help when Google lists your site. Here is a sample of some email:

"I like you website's radio history. Miss you on Live 105, but I'm glad you moved on to playing music you enjoy. What do you think of the current

Live 105?"

Truthfully I don't listen. But I hear from friends that they are having fun over there and that is what really needed to happen. Everyone there likes the new PD, I think, so that is good. I still have a lot of friends there and hope they all do well. The thing about working there is that as long as Howard Stern keeps getting great ratings and making money for the station, there should be very little pressure on the dj's. That should mean they can stretch out the music a little and have fun. Sounds like they are.

"I began listening to you when I was 14 years old and you were with Live 105

(back when they were cool). I had the biggest mad crush on you. haha."

(snip)

"I am laying here one sick kitty right now (just the flu) and you popped into my mind as my hubby

and I were wondering about you recently... so I googled you... and here you

are! hehehe! Here you are! I am now 29, married (my husband adores you too!)

and ready to give radio a second chance. KFOG... here I come! Big Rick is still

out there! As Comic Book Guy might say... Best DJ Ever."

Wow that is so nice. I have been on the radio here in San Francisco for a long time.

"Where is Alex Bennett?"

Well in San Francisco I think! He was on CNET radio. Then just a few weeks ago he was on the new 910 KNEW AM doing a great morning show. Then after a few weeks he was gone. He sounded great. I don't know what happened.

"I stumbled upon your website a few weeks ago...I'm a radio personality from

Sacramento. My last gig was hosting Mornings in Louisville for over two years.

I resigned.

I'm writing you to ask about your website. I like the setup. I'm looking to

launch a website to promote my fabulous deejay stylings. Did you design this

yourself? I like how it's clean and not complicated."

The site was designed by Mouse Potatoes. I took the idea of the buttons on top from Yahoo and got this blog thing going. It is working out well. Good luck with the radio gig.

"I was surfing, looking for some clue as to what happened to Alex B's gig at

KNEW (suddenly gone!) when I found your site. I wanted you to know what a trip

down memory lane it was. I was there at the party the last night of the Quake

and remember seeing you there. It was the first time I ever drank sake. What

a special station!

Live 105 took its place soon enough with Steve Masters, Alex B, you, even Sal

doing your traffic. After Alex was canned there I stopped listening cold

turkey. never went back."

The last night of The Quake has become legendary. I have a tape of it somewhere. I'll have to put it up on the site. After the last signoff that night a bunch of us walked down the stairs of the station to Sutter street on Van Ness. There was probably 500 people on the street that had been listening and partying. They all applauded as we left. That was cool. We had great listeners.

Wanna hear me on the Quake? Real Audio file here on a crazy little show called "Crap From The Past" you have to click the real audio player to the third segment to hear me on KQAK San Francisco back in 1985. It was the last night so it gets a little wild.

And here is a lot of Tim Bedore from the last night on The Quake from the same source. Click to the third segment to hear Tim Bedore with Howie Klein on the last night of The Quake.

"sometimes, and ofter, I feel like you understand the recording artists

we all love but totally forget their volumn of work. Van Morrison, Stevie Ray,

Jime, dozens upon dozens of singers and yu play the same 5 songs over and over.

Also U@ is so overplayed that I now think they suck.

If you want some help let me know"

Uhh ok if I want your help I'll get in touch. I still like U@ myself, they have a good volumn of work.
