BottleRock Visit? Local Fave Casual Eats And Wine

Heading to Napa for BottleRock? It's going to be fun and you already know it's expensive. This might be the perfect time to have some good food at a good price that is loved by locals.

I suggest Foodshed just off 29 near Trancas. They have pizza, salads, sandwiches, lasagna, Chicken alla Cacciatore, braised pork,  desserts, soup and more.

You can eat in there or get things to go and they even deliver. BottleRock probably won't let you in with food but you can get something before you go or take it to a picnic spot before a day of music. If you want things hot call in 2 hours ahead and it will be ready.

They close at 9, before BottleRock ends, so it won't work for late night eats. Locals love it and you can order by phone. Put it in your fridge at the hotel or figure a way to eat it or keep it until ready.
If you are staying where you have a little kitchen it's perfect to have waiting for you after a day and night of music.

Here is Lasagna Bolognese made with layers of bolognese, marinara, ricotta and béchamel. It tastes great and you get some delicious house bread with it.

Need beer or wine? They have a really unique selection of both including lots of craft beers and local and Italian wines. This 2015 Pecchenino Dolcetto Dogliani di San Luigi was a perfect match with the dinner.Lots of big red juicy wine flavors of black cherry, boysenberry and more. Plus it is a solid buy at under $15.

Their wine selection changes. I use my phone to look things up.

In addition to the great food there is a great story that includes an internship program. Intern candidates must be low-income Napa county residents.

The initial goal was to serve up delicious, house made food while expanding opportunities for at-risk youth and aspiring young chefs.

After only one year of operation, over two dozen applicants had completed Foodshed's culinary internship program, many graduates had secured employment in the local service industry (including in our kitchen), and some had already earned promotions.

Foodshed had also been featured in local and Bay Area press, earned 38 “Five-star” reviews on Yelp.com, and contributed over $40,000 to local nonprofit On The Move.

BottleRock Glamping: $10,000 a tent

Wow it's hard to believe, and it's not The Onion. You can sleep in a glamping tent at BottleRock for $10,000

Across the street from the BottleRock music festival this May, the Oxbow School hopes to put up a select few music fans for the nights while boosting its scholarship fund – all with the city’s apparent support.
The private arts school on downtown Napa’s Third Street has shared more details about the luxury campground it wants to host on its campus during BottleRock 2017 – complete with queen-size beds, hotel-grade linens and rugs, set inside 16 “glamping” tents it will offer for $10,000 each, with VIP festival passes included.
