WNEW-FM NY has started with their new format. Here is what they said it would sound like:



The format will be "Free-form" Top 40, with INFINITY's ANDY SCHUON quoted as including artists

like MICHELLE BRANCH, the DIXIE CHICKS, and ETTA JAMES in the music mix,

saying: "We're not going to be bound by restrictions. I'm really excited

about that, because that's the way we listen to music at home ... we are not

a pop station, Country station, Rock station or Dance station. We're going

to play songs that we think our audience will like. It's a very broad

concept, but it's inclusionary."



Well so far the only part of that that seems true is "The format will be (snip) Top 40." Here is what they are playing.
