What a nice 4th of July around here. I took my Uniflite boat out on the bay for the 4th. We went during the day just to have a look around. The nice weather (always) in the Oakland estuary gave way to some rough water and strong winds in "the slot" just north of Treasure Island. We rounded the corner and headed back under the bay bridge. Saw a small (approx. 22 ft) sail boat on the rocks on the west side of Treasure Island.
Went past the bridge and had lunch at The Ramp and made our way back to the Alameda Marina.
I listened to my show on KFOG , just like Larry Sanders would do, and watched the San Leandro city fireworks and the unofficial East Oakland fireworks. Gawl dang some of those fireworks people were setting off were "pro". I guess the hot spot was 98th and Eades. It always has been.
Saturday I went for a motorcycle with a friend to the Delta. I was trying to find Marsh Creek Road from Walnut Creek to take the twisty road way but I go lost. Ended up at The Sugar Barge on Bethel Island for lunch. Nice, and mellow way to spend the afternoon.
