Radio and Records reports today on some changes in the Monterey Salinas radio market. "IN" is a Mexican Oldies station. (wow who knew there was a demand, but it makes sense) "OUT" is part of the KSJO is everywhere stations. They had KSJO on 4 stations at one point I think but it never pulled the ratings and when Lamont and Tonelli went to The Bone KSJO took a pretty big hit.

Now that Country KTOM/Monterey has moved to the 92.7 MHz facility previously occupied by KMJO, KTOM's old 100.7 FM frequency has shifted to what GM Kim Bryant calls "nostalgic Regional Mexican music from the '70s and '80s" as "La Preciosa" under new PD Alex Lucas, who comes over from Entravision's Monterey stations. New call letters are forthcoming, and La Preciosa's programming will also air on a translator at 100.9 FM that helps the station's signal in the Salinas area a prime part of the Monterey market for Spanish-language broadcasters. Bryant says the decision to remove KMJO, which had been part of the San Jose-based Rock "KSJO Network," was made because KMJO had been "struggling" for three years.
