Must go this wknd: Art Deco movie place in Alameda that nobody knows about

Wow a great weekend of film!

Friday 7 and 9:30 PM:

WHATEVER HAPPENED TO BABY JANE?

A modern gothic thriller of the highest order, this outrageous film about an aging ex-vaudevillian child star (BETTE DAVIS) who initiates a psychotic reign of terror over her crippled movie queen sister (JOAN CRAWFORD) can still jolt the most jaded film-goer! One of the 60's most unsettling films, it created an oft-used blueprint for future psycho-shockers to come. Don't miss it on the BIG SCREEN! Also starring Victor Buono. Directed by Robert Aldrich. In BLACK & WHITE. 135 mins. 1962

Saturday 7:00 and 9:30 PM:

WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF?

Edward Albee's scandalous 1962 Broadway play became one of Hollywood's most talked about films four years later. The shocking content the dramatic portrayal of the destructive battles in one couple's tempestuous love-hate relationship was originally thought to be too frank and explicitly foul-mouthed for the big screen. It wasn't, of course, and the rest is history. Starring Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, George Segal and Sandy Dennis. Directed by Mike Nichols. In BLACK & WHITE. 131 mins. 1966

SUNDAY, APRIL 4

WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF at 5:00 pm and WHATEVER HAPPENED TO BABY JANE at 7:45 pm.

This is a really beautiful movie palace in Alameda. One nice big screen, BIG comfy chairs with cupholders, lots of legroom.

People People People if you have never seen "Whatever Happened To Baby Jane" on a big screen you just gotta go. A video rental DOES NOT count!

Pure evil bitch 60's film. One of the best ever ever ever. Come on just look at that picture! This movie is every part Sharon Stone ever played and more!

They don't have a proper snack bar, bring your own goobers...
