Today the big announcement just came on NASA TV: "Opportunity has landed in an area of Mars where liquid water once drenched the surface."



"This was a habitable place for a very long time"



"Not only were these rocks modified by liquid water, they may have been laid down by liquid water."



The much speculated rivers on Mars might be true.
