When THREE POINT MEDIA took control of Urban KBTB/SAN FRANCISCO, talk of a format flip began in earnest. On-air stunting was expected, and sure enough, moments ago, it began. Here's what BAY AREA listeners heard about 5:10 PM PST, following NELLY'S "HOT IN HERRE":
male anncr: "Who is JACK?"
(followed by :30 seconds of sfx)
male anncr: "Who is ALICE?"
(another :30 seconds of sfx)
male anncr: "Who is HOWARD?"
(another :30 seconds of sfx)
male anncr: "Who is JACK?"
On and on the voice continued ... mentioning one name after another. ALL ACCESS did notice an abundance of JACK references. Hmmm .... ALL ACCESS also noticed the disembodied male voice belonged to Top 40 WERO/GREENVILLE PD/Voiceover whiz TONY BANKS. How long will this go on? And WHO will take up residence at 92.7?? Smart money is on the format being revealed sometime FRIDAY (10/1). Stand by to stand by.
