Infinity sells Mix 106 and KBAY

BARB is on fire today:

Bay Area Radio Blog: "A bulletin from Radio Business Report moments ago notes that NextMedia Group of Englewood, Colo., will acquire KEZR/106.5 and KBAY/94.5 from CBS/Infinity for $80-million."

So what happens to Mix 106? My buddy and x co worker at 105 King Raffi is the afternoon guy there. They do well. Will Infinity move the format and staff to a bigger SF signal? They could use the move to take on KOIT and there are a few slow horses in the Infinity SF radio mix.

I hope they do.

Go Raffi Go!

Here's the Radio and Records story

  1. I'm glad this thing is finally getting done! Tired of being the stepchild of Infinity. It's funny...Santa Clara County is the largest of 9 counties in the Bay Area but treated like the Turlock.

The one REAL bummer is - A GREAT general manager was let go. Joe Armao had led the charge for the KEZR/KBAY. The BEST GM I've ever worked with. A guy who gets radio and loves radio. If anyone's looking for a GM - He's the Man and will be missed in our building.
