Late last night the Fox reporter (Rick Leventhal I think) was in Baghdad with 1st div. 2nd battalion 23rd Marines (I think I got that right) RESERVE Marine group. He started to talk to a Marine from Livermore CA. ALL RIGHT someone from near where I live! He was on patrol in the center of town. Pretty risky job.



Livermore is about 30 miles east from Oakland. It used to be a small town where you could have a horse in your back yard. Now there is less of that and more houses up on the hills. But it still has a very small town feel. 1st street in downtown is about as all American small town as it gets.



During the interview he said he works at Sears. A good excuse as any for me to head out and get some Craftsman tools.
