There has been a little controversy over some new runway expansion at San Francisco International Airport. The SFO Airport needs to expand soon. Why?

Facts about Flight Delays at SFO

* San Francisco International Airport (SFO) has one of the worst flight delay records of major U.S. airports -- only 64 percent of SFO flights were on time during 1998.

* One day out of every three, SFO's average flight delay is 40 minutes or greater.

* Flight delays at SFO result in air traffic delays nationwide and worldwide.

* SFO has an outdated runway layout design that does not allow for simultaneous arrivals during poor weather such as fog, low clouds, or high wind conditions.

* SFO runways are only 750 feet apart. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) standards require a separation of 4,300 feet for simultaneous dual landings during poor weather.

Ok. So far most concerns have been environmental. That is all being worked on and seems to be going well.

This week "sweeps" started at local TV stations. This is when local news becomes a crap fest and the news directors go insane while trying to think of any way to get ratings. The other night for some reason I watched the 11 PM KGO TV channel 7 newscast. Ugh. They did a story on the SFO airport. It was teased as something like "the SFO expansion might lead to bad vibes!" Oh god. Now where you live that might be a funny line and no one in your town would take it seriously. But here in the San Francisco area it is a real lead in line to a news story. But wait it gets better (worse?)

The story featured a woman (white middle aged) who is a feng shui expert. She was showing drawings of the new airport design and the layout of the runways and explained that they formed a knife or sword that indicated a stabbing energy. Of course in the world of feng shui this is bad and should be avoided at all costs. The story went on and on. They talked to this lady and she showed her pictures. They even added a graphic on screen with her URL!

Of course what they didn't do is ask a pilot about wind patterns in the area. Maybe ask someone about the safest layout to actually umm how should I put this LAND and TAKEOFF in an airplane. Yea that would have been nice.

Or how about a "fair and balanced" report that says feng shui is Bullshit! It is nonsense! What a new age scam these people are running. Look if you like a mirror next to a window fine whatever. If you think it flows energy (bwaaa haaa haaa) fine. But don't f*up the safety of my flights landing and taking off at SFO.

What the hell was the KGO TV news director thinking? Running some feng shui shit that belongs at the psychic fair on the 11 pm newscast? Here is the story

Nancy Bennett, Feng Shui expert: "When you set up a situation with knives pointing at you, this sets up something that will come to pass."

She was hired to do the "study" by unnamed "environmentalists" (I go fishing and camping I am an environmentalist too!) to um help their cause. Yeaaaa riiiiiighhhhttt that's gonna help...

This should have been at most a 15 second kicker at the end of a newscast. What a bunch of crap. I'll tell you what will come to pass, me, on KGO 11 pm newscasts.

Oh here are some more feng shui tips:

The closer the toilet is to the TV the more comfort energy your house will create.

The presence of rapidly-rotating, razor-sharp blades generally indicates a bad place to put your penis.

Feng Shui is Chinese for "Guys Crap goes in the Garage"

A remote control on your couch allows you to better commune with the Television spirits in your lounge room.
