Why did the '70s produce so many memorable movies - including 'Taxi Driver', 'Annie Hall' and 'Rocky'? The answer is in 'Decade Under the Influence,' which starts tonight.



August 20, 2003 -- THERE are probably two great periods in American film - the year 1939 (when 'Gone with the Wind,' 'The Wizard of Oz' and 'Dark Victory' all came out) and the entire 1970s. Tonight IFC begins a three-part series on movies from the '70s, what made them so great and why they ain't making them the way they used to.
