2003 San Francisco Fleet Week
Next week is Fleet Week with airshows, free tours of Navy ships, all that stuff. Next Sunday is the 135th Italian Heritage Day Parade in North Beach, plus a Blue Angels show around 3pm and who knows what else.
The Blue Angels fly Saturday and Sunday around 3pm. The San Francisco Municipal Pier is the place to be, but anywhere along the waterfront is a good place to watch.
Details here
This year's air show will be highlighted by appearances from the U.S. Navy Blue Angels and Canadian Air Force Snowbirds teams on Saturday, October 11 and Sunday, October 12. The air show will also feature an action-packed line-up of top aviation acts including the USAF F-16 Fighting Falcon, USAF F-15 Eagle, Canadian Air Force CF-18 Hornet, and other modern military aircraft -- as well as the Bay Area's first appearance by the Patriots, displaying dazzling formation flying in their L-39 jets.
An impressive "Parade of Ships" with eight naval ships, a Coast Guard Cutter and Liberty Ship will kick off the Saturday morning events at approximately 11:00 am. The public will be treated to a close-up look at select naval vessels on Sunday, October 12 at their mooring locations along the San Francisco Pier, with free-of-charge admission tickets issued on a first-come, first-serve basis. San Francisco will be alive with related activities and events including:
Blue Angels Circle & Arrival Maneuvers - Thursday, October 9 from 1-5 p.m. along the waterfront
