The Summer ratings came out and KFOG did great. I got a nice bump up in afternoons. More importantly I think the station sounds good on the air with a cool mix of music and special programs. Ben Harper, Cloudplay, Grandaddy, Green Day, all in the KFOG mix makes for a fun station.
We just wrapped up a week of KFOG "World Class Rock Of Ages" with five song sets from the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, and now. Rather than play the same music and frame it in a different way, (as some stations do with these "special" weeks) we pulled some great songs to play on the air. As an example I played Creedence Clearwater Revival's 10 minute version of Heard It Thru The Grapevine, and a new band, Rooney. Pretty dang cool. I love my job.
