Federal Communications Commission gives us some weekend reading

Stern is getting all the headlines, but there is more that Stern in the news today at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

Infinity gets fined 7K for a live concert (what were they thinking!?) where one of the artists said:

"God damn, where are my pu**y eating ni**ers? Any my ni**ers into eating pu**y? Y'll make some noise. Hey, where are my girls? If you're eating pu**y, where you at? That's it. Oh, they all like it. I ain't eating no pu**y tonight. If you all don't like it, f**k it. I ain't going to beg you. You like it?"

Part of the Infinity reply in their appeal makes mention of John Gotti!

The FCC says:

7. With respect to context, Infinity submits, without offering any support whatsoever, that, by carrying the concert live and uncut, Station WLLD(FM) did not intend to shock, pander or titillate, but rather sought to convey the street legitimacy of the various artists. In addition, Infinity asserts that the Station's broadcast of "The Last Damn Show" is less problematic than the broadcast of a tape recording of John Gotti's expletive - laced conversation, which the Commission found not to be indecent.

And Clear Channel got popped for 55K. pdf

The Stern fine today was only 27,500 and you can read all about it with a transcript in this pdf

My take? Whatever, clean up your shows, use a dump button on live concerts, the vast right wing conspiracy to silence morning radio shock jocks (/sarcasam off) will fade away. But you ought to read the pdf's they spell out the case and content and cite some law etc. It'll inform you for sure.
