A good read from Michigan State University paper:
Rock 'n' roll never was meant to be easily digestible or clear in its intentions.
And it's these wussy, teary-eyed artists who are helping drive the changing image of rock. We need something to happen here, something to add a new edge to music that is slowly but surely being turned into a therapy session for disaffected wannabe rockers who just can't stop whining. What the scene needs now is a good, old-fashioned pimp slap.
Rap musicians have become the new rock stars. You hear about them all the time, getting busted for drugs, fighting, pimping, drinking, shooting, robbing and all the stuff that once was characteristic of a rock star. In fact, I think these new wuss rockers should really start acting with the aggression and irreverence of their rap counterparts, who, incidentally, are acting the way the prototypical rock stars like Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix did oh so long ago (with the exception of guns).
