His older brothers were already in the armed forces

After Pearl Harbor happened he joined the Navy. They sent him to Hawaii. He didn't talk about it much, he always said he didn't do much during WWII, but he was there ready to go if called. Like many things the best part was when it was over.



But when he came back to Washington state his wife asked for a divorce. He didn't talk about that ever. I found out about it after he passed away.



Later he came down to California with his new wife and settled in Oakland running a deli on East 14th near High Street with other family members.



Then he worked for State Farm Insurance in Berkeley.
