In todays Chron Mark Moford says rock radio is dead. He mentions this as he recounts listening to the radio. He is kind of correct, but is waaaaaaaaaaaay missing the point. White male rock and rollers? Well there are not as many as they were.
Radio changed, formats changed, even the language spoken has changed. Instead of a popular format rock radio is almost a niche format. And among that big general term of "rock" there are a few variations.
He mentions a big mass of things will make rock radio change, but what he mentions really won't. It's all about the numbers and the population profile of the listeners.
Sirius and XM are so far in the red in debt they probably both need a corporate sugar daddy to get them back to even.
And he finds a way to slam Bush, people who shop at Target, drink Budweiser, and more.
When Moford started he was funny and different, now I just find him bitter and boring. Every time he writes about any topic it somehow ends up being the same kind of I'm cool they're not Bush sucks article. He's like a friend who talks about the same things everytime you meet them.
I didn't vote for Bush, but I do shop at Target, and I don't slam vodka's and I do drink Buds.
Sh*t, I'm not cool! Oh the burning pain and desire to be cool! You better not like popular stuff either...the cool kids will make fun of you!
