Hooray for the good guys!

The kind of thing we're doing that never gets mentioned:

U.S. Marines work with Thailand Army Engineers on an Engineering Civil Assistance Project (ENCAP) to construct a new recreation center for Thai students in Tak, Thailand, on April 25, 2005. The project is one of many being conducted as part of Exercise Cobra Gold 2005. DoD photo by Lance Cpl. Christopher T. Rojas, U.S. Marine Corps. (Released)

"Exercise COBRA GOLD was reformed in the year 2004. Prior to 2004, the joint training was only between the Royal Thai Armed Forces, U.S. Armed Forces, and Singaporean Armed Forces. This year the Philippine Armed Forces and Mongolian Armed Forces have been added. The exercise emphasizes peace operations instead of war operations. Other allies throughout the Asia Pacific area have also been given an opportunity to send their representatives to observe the exercise."
