Big Rick goes Mooching for Salmon

Last weekend I went out with 3 friends on a buddies boat fishing for salmon off the Bolinas coast at place called Duxbury. The numbers are depth in feet.



It was a slow day. You are allowed 2 fish per person, so we wanted 8. We got only 2. But they were pretty hefty. I got the first one a nice 28# er, and my friend Greg got the second at 26#'s. That was it. But we divided the fish up so we each got a side fillet. They were big! A 30# salmon is like the size of a small child. We had fun, you oughtta check it out.

It is a good time to go. You don't need a boat, rod, reel or anything. Just get on a party boat use their gear and they'll show you what to do. You'll probably be drifting dead bait. It is called mooching. Here's more on it:
