Wow the New Year is finally here. That is if you are a F1 racing fan. The first race is Sunday in Melbourne so that makes it Saturday night here, and what better excuse for a party! Last year was one of the best F1 seasons ever. The championship was close, there was great racing, a spy scandal between 2 of the top teams, and the amazing rookie season of Lewis Hamilton. So you are invited to our New Years party for F1 at Rickys in San Leandro this Saturday.
The night kicks off at 7pm with live music by The Hoo, a band that plays the music of The Who! They really nail it.
The HOO are long time veterans of the Bay Area music scene. Over the years, the members have played in several different groups notably The Rubinoos, Earthquake, Psycotic Pineapple, Big Bang Beat, Mersey Beach, and Snakefinger. They are big time fans of Pete Townshend, John Entwistle, Keith Moon, and Roger Daltrey collectively known to fans worldwide as the Who (naturally!). The HOO do their best to nail the spirit and the energy of the Who in their 1960s - early 70s prime. For several years now, they have played concerts building a hardcore following of Who fans. As the HOO Al, Steve, and John are having the time of their lives playing the music of the Who.
They go on at 7pm, no cover charge, just show up. Then there is a pre race show and then the first F1 race of the year.
The night will have a silent auction to raise money for a great cause, the Oakland Firefighters Random Acts Of Kindness. All ages, no cover charge, live music. What's not to like?! See ya there at 7pm sharp!
It's easy to get to, 2 blocks from BART, directions here.
